PLEASE ACT NOW! This is outrageous!

PLEASE write to US Preventive Services at the link below to tell them their new mammogram guidelines are total bullshit. They want women to stop doing self exams and are saying mammograms should not be done until age 50 except for those with strong family history of breast cancer. This is absolutely outrageous and sure to result in countless unnecessary and premature deaths of millions of women if this new guideline is enforced. WELL... 85% or more of new breast cancer diagnoses are in women with NO family history of the disease - like me. Women in their 30's is the fastest growing age group being diagnosed - like me. Younger women diagnosed with breast cancer tend to have the most aggressive forms of the disease - like me (i.e., triple negative and HER2+). We need to demand a retraction of the new guideline. Please! You can express your outrage at the following link: http://www.uspreventiveservices.com/contact.htm Thank you.

I'm outraged. They've even thrown out self exams, which is free and has saved many lives. Unfrickenbelievable. I've added my comments on the link.

I'd like to see what research this is based on, if any. What happened to the "early prevention" campaign? Seriously, us women are not going to take this...

I already posted all of my questions on the link you provided - thanks for that - although I know my questions are just going out in a vacuum and will never be answered by the USPSTF. Bastards! And neither of our situations even falls into the category the taskforce refers to, but I just cannot imagine that, without any family history, we ever would have received a referral for a mammogram with the guidelines of mammograms starting at age 50. Still wondering if you were able to have your treatment today. If so, I hope you are feeling well (honestly, I always felt okay for a few days after chemo and then felt like total crap for a few days) and I hope you continue to feel well and strong. Peaceful dreams to you!

I got hysterical when I heard these new guidelines they are proposing!!! I could not stop crying!! Are they freaking crazy?? How dare they!! Who are these BIG SHOTS who think up this stuff?? Do they not have daughters, wives, sisters????!!!!!!!! My FIRST BREAST CANCER was found on a mammogram in my 40's !! If not for that I would probably be dead!! I had 2 lumpectomies and radiation...thought I was fine and 5 yrs later got "IT" back again !!! this time worse, resulting, in double mastectomy, followed by chemo and radiation!! so don't tell me mammos should NOT BE DONE TILL 50 OR 60!!I'M LIVING PROOF THAT IT IS BULL!! THIS IS PEOPLES LIVES THEY ARE MESSING WITH!! I went to the link you posted and commented!! thanks Julie!! We are warriors and we want to live!!!
